What We Believe

  • Elysburg Alliance Church Philosophy of Ministry

Our mission is to be a local church of disciples who make disciples in our town, our region, and our world.  We make disciples by winning them to faith in Christ, building them up in the faith, equipping them to do good works of service, and multiplying and sending them into the harvest.

We win people by proclaiming the gospel whenever possible, reaching out attractionally in our community, using relational evangelism to reach the unsaved (including the 4-14 window), and by going on missional ventures in our region and our world.

We build the church by preaching and teaching the scriptures on Sunday mornings in our worship service and in Sunday school, by teaching them through our Sunday school and children’s church ministry, and by teaching them through our small group ministry.

We equip believers by instructing them how to use their natural talents and spiritual giftedness to minister in the body of Christ.   We use on-the-job training and informal peer mentoring to equip people to serve through their good works of service.  Service is a key part of the high calling of every believer.  We embrace the core values of the Alliance and expect to see them in the lives of our members.

We multiply our efforts by focusing on ministry team formation.  We intentionally send our workers into the harvest so that they can make disciples outside of our four walls.  Winning, building, and equipping is a thoroughly biblical way of approaching discipleship.  Join us as we make disciples together!
  • Elysburg Alliance Church is a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination: https://cmalliance.org
  • The statement of faith for the Alliance can be found found here https://cmalliance.org/who-we-are/our-faith-and-mission/statement-of-faith/.  All Alliance churches hold these basic tenants of the faith.  Members of our church voluntarily support the national and global work of the Alliance by giving to the Great Commission Fund and by supporting its International Workers.
  • Our church is also a part of the Eastern PA District of the C&MA, joining over eighty churches in accomplishing the Great Commission in Eastern Pennsylvania. The district vision statement reads as follows:
    • The Eastern PA District of the Alliance exists to be a development network of Kingdom workers for increasing Gospel impact in our region. In our work, we do this by fostering personal, relational, and vocational growth and fruitfulness. In our culture we do this by depending on the power, reflecting on the character, and pursuing the work of Jesus.
